What are "Sister" Societies

The cooperation agreement has been made between the
Communications Society (ComSoc) of the Institute of Electrical
and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) and the Communications
Society (CS) of the Institute of Electronics, Information and
Communications Engineers (IEICE). This agreement makes it
possible for ComSoc members to subscribe to IEICE Transactions
on Communications at reduced "sister-society" rates.


Organization and Activities
The Institute of Electronics, Information
and Communication Engineers : IEICE

The IEICE (Japan) was founded in May, 1917, and is the largest
Japanese professional engineering society.
Presently the Institute has more than 41,000 affiliated members.
Being known internationally as one of the world's leading academic
institutions in this area, the IEICE aims at the investigation and
exchange of knowledge on the science and technology of electronics,
information and communications, thereby contributing to the
progress of technology and the development of industries in these
fields. The Communications Society is the largest among the four
societies in the IEICE and has more than 14,000 affiliated members.


IEICE Transactions on Communications

These monthly Transactions are devoted to publishing original
research papers, letters, survey papers, and invited papers in
the field of communications. The editorial policy is to publish
as many high-quality papers as possible, as quickly as possible.
The Transactions also include special issues and sections
consisting of papers on selected hot topics. Particular emphasis
is placed on shortening the submission-to publication time cycle
to ensure rapid delivery of the newest research results.
We welcome subscriptions and paper contributions from all over
the world as well as from Japan.
